Sketchoholic!

So this was my first time doing the 3 Hour (which turned into a 4 Hour) Marathon!

Topic: Satan's Little Helper.
Medium: Color Pencil

Topic: Strange Encounters
Medium: Graphite

Topic: Strange Shapes
Medium: Graphite
Topic: Animal for a head
Medium: Graphite

The first one I was literally two seconds too late to submit it online. I realized that I had to resize it too late :(

I had fun with all of them, though the last one I had to finish in a hurry so I could continue working on my other projects! :) These are really fun. It's challenging because it makes you think and it makes you focus.. a lot. Hopefully by continuously doing these marathons I can improve my art skills and have a couple to put in my portfolio towards the end of the year!

K, back to the projects,

Art Sketch Group

So the last contest for Dice's artwork was on www.sketchoholic.com! Fortunately or unfortunately, I lost. It was the first time I ever did something like that, so I'm for sure going to keep going on the site and submitting artwork when I have the time!

..And since I have the time I decided to do a simple sketch for a contest ending today! Most of the contests on the website don't have prizes, but it's fun to do for practice and to see other artistic renditions of the same topic.

Here's Mr. Moonface for the anthropomorphic character contest:

:) It's so nice to be sketching often again.. especially since I'm not worried about my classes anymore. Classes are amazing to increase technical skill and receive amazing critique plus keep yourself practicing with a certain medium or mediums. Now I'm excited to take what I learned and continue exploring my mind!

End of Summer Classes

First off,

AUG 8, 1:00-1:30PM PT, PLEASE VOTE FOR ME #63!

"You Got Mail!" Acrylic

Did this today to submit in a contest for one of Dice Tsutsumi's original artworks! For those who don't know (and you should so now you will!) Dice is one of my FAVORITE Pixar artists. I love his artwork. Love. Adore. It inspires me all the time to push myself harder and try new techniques. To have one of his artworks will be.. well.. amazing. If not, it'll be nice for him to notice me? Even a bit?

Oh, he was also the art director for Toy Story 3. Yeah.

PLEASE VOTE!

I apologize for the lack of blogging. My excuse is that my classes got harder and took up a large chunk of my time. And I've been feeling extremely exhausted lately, which I'll blame on being female and on my thyroid :D

Here are artworks from my figure drawing class:

Hopefully next time I will be able to post new soft pastel drawings. I'm feeling really inspired by Bill Cone. I'm going to try and imitate his style!

Until then,
